Good morning shredders and happy Friday! Today's shredvotion is about Elon Musk. Elon Musk if you don't know is the founder of Pay-pal, Space-X, Tesla Motors, and is the chairman of Solar City. Elon is leading the charge of renewable energy and sustainable living in the world. His company Space-x is the first major private space company. Whose aim is to further are reaches and understanding of the universe around us. Most recently the company successfully landed a reusable rocket booster back to earth. His company Tesla Motors produces the worlds leading and most accessible fully electric vehicle. Solar City's mission is to help adapt homes to solar energy in an attempt to end our dependence on fossil fuels. Elon is another prime example that shredders aren't just riding boards or playing guitars. In his final year of college he asked himself "What are the major issues of our time that need to be solved before I die." He realized that waiting on government intervention or for global sentiment to change over night was just not enough. He uses his intelligence, planning, and whole lot of dreaming about the future to help push humanity as a whole in a cleaner direction. He hasn't let the dogmas and trappings of normal life stop him from inventing and planning new and better ways for us all to live functionally on earth together. He is constantly attempting to improve and better the ideas he has come up with as well. We as shredders can learn a lot from his example. Having an effect on the world comes directly from our thoughts developed into action. I hope that his story can inspire you to look at what you don't like about the world around you and use your shred to affect change in it. You have the power and ability to do powerful things with your shred. Enjoy the adventure in front of you and never forget

Good morning shredders and happy Thursday! Today's shredvotion is about John Lasseter. John Lasseter is an animator, film director, screenwriter, producer and the chief creative officer of Pixar Animation Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and DisneyToon Studios. He is also the Principal Creative Advisor for Walt Disney Imagineering. John started out at Disney but was fired because of his obsession with computer animating. He went on to join up with George Lucas at Lucasfilm which later became Pixar. He directed Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Cars, Cars 2, and is currently working on Toy Story 4. John is an interesting choice for a shredvotion but let me tell you why he is truly a shredder. When John started at Disney he was captivated with the idea of computer animation. He has been a Disney fan all his life, even working a summer Job at one of the theme parks. In his quest to innovate and share stories he saw a whole new medium in computers. Disney, his dream job, chastised him for it. So what did John do? He definitely didn't quit on his dream. He found someone else who saw his vision. He stuck with it. After moving along with Lucasfilm ,which later became Pixar, he dominated the computer animation world. He made the movies he wanted how he wanted and you know what Pixar got bought by Disney. Guess who now became top dog at the company that said it couldn't be done,John. That to me is a shredder. He stuck to his shred, saw what he wanted, and made it happen. All of this he did with a still incredibly humble attitude. This is how John describes his job “We make the kind of movies we like to watch. I love to laugh. I love to be amazed by how beautiful it is. But I also love to be moved to tears. There’s lots of heart in our films.” I hope his story can inspire you today to stick to your guns. If you have a dream, go out there and get it. Shred everything along the way. Make your masterpiece and keep a happy and positive attitude through it all. You have the power and ability to do awesome things with your shred. Enjoy the journey and never forget

Good morning shredders and happy Tuesday! Today's shredvotion is about Jess Kimura. Jess Kimura is a professional snowboarder from British Columbia. She's sponsored by Monster, CAPiTA, Electric, Union, Nike SB, Coal, and Celtek. Jess is the most notable women's street snowboarder of all time. She puts out video parts that rival with the best of the boys. She goes for broke and pushes the limits of what most people think you can do on a snowboard. She's filmed several award winning parts, has taken plenty of rides to the emergency room, puts in work on the streets and inspires many snowboarders ,especially women, to do the same. Jess has the exact attitude a shredder should have. Set your sites on a goal in your shred and push until you get it. She's one of the few women in snowboarding history that has their own pro board that the public can purchase. If we can learn anything about the shred from Jess its that you don't have to do things how other people say you should. If people don't want to let you in the club, just make your own. I watch the work she puts on film in total amazement. So go out today and create your own bewildering art just like Jess. Drop some jaws and don't let anyone tell you what to do. Its a wonderful day to be alive family. You have the power and ability to blaze your own trails and impress yourself everyday. Enjoy the empowerment it brings you and never forget

Good morning shredders and happy Monday! Today's shredvotion is about Orville and Wilbur Wright, more commonly known as the Wright brothers. The Wright brothers are the fathers of human flight. They were not the first to test aircraft but they were the first to create a way to control and sustain an aircraft in flight. They weren't always successful though. They started off as bicycle salesman and printers. They were great tinkerers of machines. They built tons of prototypes and failed many times before they were successful in flight. Neither of them received highschool diplomas. There's lots of fun facts about these two but what I find most interesting and applicable to shredding is the idea that they were not standard ivy-league fashioned inventors and didn't even start out in the world of flight. They took each experience as it came, accumulated all their knowledge through life, and in its application fathered our fastest means of transport as humans to this day. We as shredders can learn a lot from this idea. This is where Shred EVERYTHING comes from. The more you focus on being the best you can be at everything that you do, the more that new doors and avenues will open to you. You will accumulate skills and mentalities that you may never imagine will help you in other shreds. So as you go about your day today try and focus on the small moments where you have an opportunity to learn and improve skills. If you can widen up your tool bag you greatly improve your ability to shred. Its a wonderful day to be alive family. You have the power and ability to do amazing things inside and outside of your shred. Enjoy the magic it brings you and never forget
